Douglass C. Lyon, principal and chief investment manager for Lyon Capital Management of
Pittsford, NY earned and was awarded the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation
from The CFA Institute (formerly The Association
for Investment Management and Research). Earning the CFA designation requires the
successful completion of a series of three rigorous internationally given examinations
that test candidates' understanding of a body of knowledge that encompasses ethics,
financial accounting, quantitative analysis, economics, securities analysis, portfolio
management, and the responsibilities inherent in providing advice to profit sharing plan
trustees.
CFA charters are awarded to individuals who have satisfied their exam requirements,
have a minimum three years of professional investment experience, agree to abide by The
CFA Institute's Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct and satisfy the
group's membership application requirement.
Abby Joseph Cohen, CFA, Co-Chair of the Investment Policy Committee at Goldman Sachs
& and Co., and former Chair of The CFA Institute's Board of Governors said, "The
CFA designation is the hallmark of integrity and excellence in the global investment
community. The number of candidates has grown in response to the increased
sophistication of global financial markets. Employers and clients know that
individuals who have earned CFA charters have made personal commitments to a comprehensive
study program and ethical standards for professional behavior."
